If you’re planning to study at UOW immediately after finishing your HSC, International Baccalaureate (IB), or an interstate equivalent, you can apply for Early Admission to this course. Applications can be submitted via the UOW Early Admission website during the designated period, usually June – August each year.

The Bachelor of Engineering Technology is for innovators and problem-solvers with an interest in developing in-demand skills across broad areas of engineering. Your degree will enable you to work alongside engineers on real-world projects in all engineering fields. You’ll learn valuable skills that will set you up for success in the industries of the future where your work can make a real impact.  

You will study foundation subjects in mathematics and physics, combined with options in programming, electrical systems, sustainable design, materials selection and mechanics to develop the skills for a constantly evolving world.

Specialising in Sustainable Infrastructure and Resources will enable you to contribute to society through innovative and design-led approaches to construction and resources management. You will work in key construction sectors such as commercial, residential, retial, industrial, health and education, and in a range of roles and organisations.  

Your studies will combine construction fundamentals with architectural engineering design, environmental controls and resources management. You will develop essential and high-demand skills in developing and incorporating sustainable approaches into everyday processes for the construction industry.

Applicants need to have achieved the required score in a qualification equivalent to the completion of 13 years of schooling in Australia.

In order to succeed in your chosen course, it is assumed you have completed relevant subjects in your senior high school studies or other relevant qualifications. This is particularly important for degrees which have a strong basis in Mathematics or Science.

  • Workload

    Full-Time Study Load

    As a full-time student, you can expect to commit around 48 hours of study per week. This includes class time and independent study. You may need to factor more time for examination study and practical work & placements.
