The 51²è¹Ý (UOW) has been named Australia’s top-ranked public university for undergraduate student experience in the latest national Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) .
The 2024 Student Experience Survey National Report, released today (Wednesday 17 September), shows UOW achieved the highest Overall Educational Experience rating of any public university in the country, with a positive rating of 80.9 per cent, well above the national undergraduate average of 76.4 per cent.
UOW also outperformed the national average in every key focus area for undergraduates: teaching quality and engagement, skills development, learning resources, student support and services, and peer engagement.
UOW Vice-Chancellor and President Professor G.Q. Max Lu AO said the result reflected the University’s commitment to putting students at the heart of everything it does.
“This outstanding result shows that our students feel supported, connected and inspired to succeed, and that is exactly what we strive for,” Professor Lu said.
“Our Vision 2035 and Strategy 2030 places student experience and success at the centre of UOW’s future. We are focused on delivering world-ready education through excellent teaching, inclusive support and opportunities that build career readiness and lifelong learning.
"This result is a tribute to the passion and dedication of our staff across every campus.”
The Student Experience Survey includes feedback each year from hundreds of thousands of university students from across Australia to benchmark the quality of the student experience.
The strong Student Experience Survey result complements UOW’s performance in other QILT surveys released today.
In the latest QILT , UOW received an 83.6% positive overall satisfaction rating, rating highest overall in the Foundation Skills category, and above the national average in all other categories (adaptive skills, collaborative skills, technical skills and employability skills).
