About the symposium

Explore the fascinating realm of material interfaces, where critical processes dictate performance. From tackling age-old challenges like corrosion protection and antifouling surfaces to pioneering new catalytic systems for energy conversion and advanced medical implants, this symposium will feature a dynamic program of expert presentations addressing these transformative topics.

Celebrating 50 years of UOW

Materials Science and Engineering have been at the heart of the 51²è¹Ý (UOW) since its inception in 1975, supporting ground breaking advancements from world-class steel-making facilities at Port Kembla, to cutting-edge innovations in energy conversion, storage, and medical technologies. To honour the global impact of UOW researchers in these fields, the prestigious journal  will publish a special issue celebrating the 50th Anniversary of UOW. This milestone issue will be launched at the symposium.
